Art259design aims to dress people for who they really are, with tailored garments where the exploration of forms and conceptual minimalism are the keys to understanding.
Our design embraces the needs of an unconventional, confident, and determined figure, capable of daring and choosing wardrobe pieces not according to the season’s trends but following their own style, with pride and audacity, choosing the garment over the brand.
The imagery is clean yet nostalgic and ironically sad, with a passion for deconstruction and material manipulation. This research emphasises the incomplete nature of the garment, revealing what is usually hidden: seams, linings, and other infrastructures that reveal the soul of the clothes.
The garments highlight the alteration, decay, and aging of the material, crea- ting a new interpretation that erases the dualism between new and old, simple and complex, beautiful and ugly.
Determined in the study of materials and related processes, for Alberto, design in all its nuances becomes a fundamental component of material manipulation. The asymmetrical and deconstructed beauty of his creations re-defines the visual structure of bodies: his sculpted aesthetic has the allure of the abstract juxtaposed with the materiality of the body.
The collections change over time, altering and exasperating the design while remaining faithful to the project of “zero waste” philosophy adopted by the designer from the beginning of his artistic project.
Materials are utilised following their grain, and scraps are used as functional details in the design of the clothes.
Fabrics become the main sources of inspiration that allow the development of the project in all its collections: we find a design and material that is misty and ruined, inked and refined at the same time.
The chromatic use of neutral colors such as black and white emphasises a sculptural intention in the composition of the garments, where the fabrics are clean and free of surface decorations, emphasising the minimal character of the visual project.
For Art259, clothing structures transform our bodies into something different from their essential base forms; clothing, by their nature, are designed to modify or highlight the identity of the wearer.
The creative project of Alberto Affinito, designer and founder of Art259design, stems from an approach that conceives clothing according to a personal and conceptual vision. His approach to tailoring reconnects with the methodology of the visual arts: whether displayed in contemporary art galleries or animated by a living body, his creations can be described as living sculptures.
